Warm design for a drab east side bungalow

Set in the Rosewood neighborhood of Austin’s east side, this drab and neglected house would become the warm, cozy digs that became known as Bryan Street. Highlights included encaustic cement tile and red oak floors, sustainable wood plank walls/ceilings (not a square inch of sheetrock was used in this house), high efficiency toilets, on demand hot water heater, LED lighting, ample natural light and a high efficiency HVAC with Nest controller.
